Viscose Rugs For Versatility
This material is versatile enough that it can mimic linen, silk, wool or cotton in texture. Viscose rugs that imitate silk are smooth and soft. They tend to absorb liquids easily. In terms of comfort, viscose provides the same level of satisfaction that natural fibers provide. Most viscose rugs hold coolness well and typically feel cool to the touch.
However viscose rugs are exceptionally unforgiving for pet and tannic acid staining. Their natural absorbency unfortunately weakens the fibers when they get wet from spills or frequent cleanings. They generally have a light color palate and are not recommended in homes with pets or children, or in high traffic areas. They are at an attractive price point, and the industry often refers to them as “disposable goods.”
